Docker containers have been gaining popularity in the past few years as a way to package and deploy applications. A container is a self-contained, isolated environment that includes all the necessary files and dependencies to run an application.

Adguard
AdGuard Home is a network-wide software for blocking ads and tracking. After you set it up, it’ll cover all your home devices, and you won’t need any client-side software for that. Manifest V3 for Google chrome and other Chrome based browsers might break the current adguard plugins. Now there is an option to use pihole but personally I like this one.

FileRun is a self-hosted Google Drive alternative. It is a full featured web based file manager with an easy to use user interface. It is great for managing your photo, movie, audio collection, or sharing files with your family and friends. Now some may ask why not Nextcloud or Owncloud , We because ease of use ,UI/UX and intigration with 3rd party apps. Primarily its free for most of the purpose but they also have a paid option. If you are someone who has a NAS but still use Google or other cloud storage, this is definately going to save you a lot.
You can easily use this with Nextcloud mobile apps.
Bitwarden(Vaultwarden)
Why spend 5 to 10 USD per month on paid Password Managers when you can pretty much have all those functionalities. Vaultwarden is a unofficial but faster bitwarden image built with Rust. Its very fast. works well with all bitwarden apps and browser plugins. One trade off can be, it uses SQLite local database , so you might need to take a backup of its configuration time to time.

Many of you might already heard about Plex. Its a free* server for your media collection. This might be a good option if you want to own your media and not subscribe to 10s of different services like Netflix,Hulu,HBO Max etc. They have paid apps available on all major mobile & TV platform, alternatively you can subscribe to Plex Pass. You can run plex on docker in a hassle free way.
